United Nations

The United Nations (UN) is an international organization founded in 1945, following the end of World War II, with the aim of promoting peace, security, and cooperation among the world’s nations. It consists of 193 member states and operates through various organs, including the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the International Court of Justice, and the UN Secretariat, led by the Secretary-General. The UN addresses a broad range of global issues, such as humanitarian aid, peacekeeping, environmental protection, and human rights. It works through specialized agencies like UNESCO, WHO, and UNICEF to implement its missions. The UN’s main objectives include preventing conflict, helping parties in conflict make peace, providing a platform for dialogue, and assisting in social and economic development.
