Ina Thea Kenoyer has been taken into custody for reportedly poisoning her boyfriend, Edward Riley Jr, to death shortly after he inherited millions. Kenoyer was arrested on 30 October in Minot, North Dakota.
According to police records referenced by the New York Post, Mr. Riley began to feel sick after meeting with his attorney on 3 September to claim an inheritance approximated at $30m (£25m). Despite his deteriorating health, Kenoyer reportedly waited until the next day to alert emergency services. By the time paramedics arrived, they found the 51-year-old man to be unresponsive.
He was subsequently rushed to a hospital in Bismarck, where he tragically passed away on 5 September. Autopsy results later confirmed that poisoning was the cause of his demise.
Commenting on the intricacies of the case, Investigations Commander Captain Dale Plessas said, “This case was extremely complex.” He also extended gratitude to those who offered vital information, stating, “Thank you to everyone who provided us with information that helped our investigators piece this together.”
Currently, Kenoyer faces charges of Class AA Felony Murder and is being held at the Ward County Jail. The investigation into this incident is still underway.
