Shoppers can double up on the products for less than £2.50 – and smell like ‘luxury’
Home Bargains customers have said their cars “smell unreal” thanks to a pair of products that could fool others into thinking they use high-end perfume to keep their vehicles smelling fresh. In truth, shoppers can achieve this effect for less than £3.
Writing on Instagram, the retailer said: “If you love your car and you love @designerfragrances.eu, you need to visit the vehicle care aisle at Home Bargains today. Not only do they have a range of Air Freshener Cards which last for weeks, but they also have the Air Freshener Mist Sprays, which are concentrated and designed also for fabric in your vehicle.”
The post claims that pairing the hanging card with the mist spray will transform vehicles into “the most luxurious smelling vehicle on the road without the luxury price tag”. The items are not available on the Home Bargains website, though the clip does display an in-store price tag of £1.49.
Shoppers were quick to respond to the Instagram announcement. One fan said: “How exciting is this? I swear my car with that air freshener in it [smells] unreal!”
Another put: “I’ve brought some for my first car!” And, one more wrote: “Love them so much!”
There are four fragrances to choose from in the mist sprays, reports the Mirror, all of which have been loosely inspired by popular designer perfumes. The collection includes One Billion, Savore, Tu Est Belle and Xalien.
Savvy shoppers have been able to identify, sometimes purely from the name, which luxury brand has inspired these fragrances. The Savore scent is widely regarded as virtually identical to Dior’s Sauvage (worth up to £122 at The Fragrance Shop).
Customers have drawn comparisons between the remaining budget offerings and the likes of Paco Rabanne’s One Million, Alien by Mugler and Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle. Previously, we put the hanging card version of these air fresheners to the test, which are available for 79p in the car and automotive aisle at Home Bargains.
The hanging card options come in the same four scents as the mist sprays, so shoppers can double up and truly elevate their car’s fragrance for less. By purchasing both versions, shoppers would spend under £3 to give their car a premium scent that could easily be mistaken for a high-end perfume.
The 79p air fresheners claim to last “up to 28 days” on the packaging. Meanwhile, the new mists have labels that claim to “zap and kill off nasty odours with just one spray”.
Elsewhere in Home Bargains, shoppers can browse a wide selection of car accessories both online and in-store. The range includes air fresheners, phone holders, device chargers and much more, all priced at £6 or below.
