The President had earlier called King Charles “so cute” during his Washington welcome address.Like King Charles, Mr Trump and Mr Morgan share a close relationship spanning up to 18 years. The pair first crossed paths when the British journalist claimed victory on Celebrity Apprentice in 2008.The text messages only reaffirm the President’s admiration for the monarch, after his flurry of gushing remarks throughout the visit.Mr Trump has repeatedly lauded the sovereign as “fantastic” and “brave”, before even revealing he was “jealous” of King Charles after his 30-minute Congress address. The speech was a particular highlight of the trip, as he made history by becoming the first British monarch to address a Joint Meeting of Congress. His speech reinforced the enduring bond between the two nations – one that has been pulled into question as of late amid Mr Trump’s fractious relationship with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer – while also voicing support for Nato and Ukraine.Later, speaking to royal author Robert Hardman, the President expressed considerable fondness for King Charles and satisfaction with how the State Visit had unfolded.LATEST ROYAL NEWS:Meghan Markle’s father returns to US in bid to walk again after finding love in the PhilippinesPrince William’s income tax bill revealed putting him in top 0.002% of contributorsKing Charles attends Coast Guard Station Opening in Bermuda”He’s a great King,” Donald Trump then said on Thursday, as the conclusion of the monarch’s trip loomed.”The greatest King, in my book.”Mr Trump also revealed the US will lift Scottish whisky tariffs, adding: “The King and Queen got me to do something that nobody else was able to do, without hardly even asking!”Following the historic trip, a senior royal aide revealed the niceties in the media extend beyond surface level.”They get on very well. And it’s not just the King and the President. It’s all four of them with each other,” the Palace aide said.”Given some of the issues that have presented themselves in the bilateral relationship, you’d think it might all be a bit tricky. But far from it.”The warmth that you see in public is absolutely the warmth you see in private.”Returning today from his transatlantic trip, which concluded with a two-day tour of Bermuda, King Charles is sure to reflect on the milestone visit with pride – although the aide insisted he is already looking to his next diplomatic trip.”This is a man who is absolutely driven by duty. Driven by service,” the aide poignantly stated. Our Standards:
