Maharashtra in forefront to emerge as global growth platform: Devendra Fadnavis

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said Friday that the future will belong to regions that combine intelligence with inclusion, as he asserted that his state is at the forefront of channelising disruptions of this century to remain not only India’s largest economy but to emerge as a global growth platform as well.If the country under PM is shaping the global change by moving from incremental reforms to structural transformation, Maharashtra as India’s biggest state economy of $578 billion has entered this period from a position of strength, he said. “In this century of change, nations compete and states execute. In this emerging global order, sub-national economies will determine competitiveness.” Fadnavis said Maharashtra, with 14% of India’s GDP, highest share of its FDI inflow, $67 billion in exports and nine million MSMEs driving employment and entrepreneurship, is in a strong position to be the leading destination for modern business activities.
