Ant and Dec left fans baffled on Saturday night as they asked a question about vacuum during a tense game of Limitless Win
Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win was rocked by controversy after fans were up in arms who thought they had spotted a major blunder just minutes into the popular quiz show.
In last Saturday’s episode (January 11), the Geordie pair greeted new contestants Richard and Lorna to the ITV studios, with the duo aiming to prove their trivia prowess and scoop a staggering cash prize.
The latest challengers hoped to secure a hefty win so they could whisk their “friends and family to a big villa somewhere in Europe.”
All appeared well as the couple had raked in £30,000, until a question regarding the length of a standard Henry vacuum cleaner’s electrical cable caused confusion. They guessed 8 metres, but Ant and Dec stated the correct answer was 10 metres, resulting in the loss of two important lives.

However, viewers were quick to do their own research and found that Google suggested the correct length was 8.4 metres. Numerous fans took to social media to highlight what they believed was an egregious mistake by the show, potentially costing the pair a considerable sum, reports the Express.
One viewer wrote: “Interesting. Google has the Henry cable at 8.4m. Interesting for £250k #limitlesswin.”
Another shared their frustration, posting: “When Google says 8.4m yet @antanddec Limitless Win says 10m #limitlesswin,” accompanied by a screenshot of Google’s result.
One viewer simply tweeted: “Erm?? @antanddec #limitlesswin,” alongside a screenshot of a Google search showing the cable length as 8.4m. Another demanded: “Pay up @ITV #limitlesswin Clearly they were right!”
Another viewer found the question absurd, asking: “Who the hell is gonna know how long a wire on a vacuum is. #LimitlessWin.”
Unfortunately for Richard and Lorna, they didn’t hit their seven-figure prize target. After a string of difficult questions, they quickly used up their lives and ultimately had to concede defeat without earning any more money.
They walked away with £30,000 and looked emotional backstage as they hugged after making their decision.
Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win airs on Saturdays from 8.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
