Kensington Palace has announced that the Princess of Wales has recently undergone planned abdominal surgery. The 42-year-old princess was admitted to The London Clinic, a private hospital in central London, and is expected to remain there for a recovery period of ten to fourteen days.

The surgery, which the palace described as successful, was carried out to treat a non-cancerous condition, although specific details about the condition have not been disclosed. Following her hospital stay, the Princess of Wales is set to continue her recovery at her Windsor home.

The statement further mentioned that the Princess is unlikely to return to her public duties until after Easter, based on current medical advice. Kensington Palace has expressed their intent to only provide updates on her health when there is significant new information.

Additionally, the Princess has expressed her regret for having to postpone her upcoming engagements due to her medical condition. She is eager to resume her responsibilities as soon as possible.

The return of the Princess of Wales to her royal duties will be contingent on medical advice affirming her ability to do so. The Princess was last publicly seen at the Royal Family’s annual Christmas Day service in Sandringham.
