Dillian Whyte Fails Doping Test After “Adverse Finding”, Anthony Joshua Rematch Canceled

The fight between two British boxers, Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, was canceled after Whyte failed a doping test. The match was scheduled to take place on August 12 at the 02 Arena in London. It was meant to be a rematch of their 2015 bout, in which Joshua emerged victorious.

The fight organizers made an announcement, stating, “Due to the results of the doping test, the Joshua vs. Whyte fight has been canceled. A thorough investigation will be conducted.”

Following these developments, Whyte took to his social media platforms to express his regret, as he felt he didn’t even get a chance to prove his innocence. He posted, “I am shocked and devastated to learn of a report by VADA of adverse findings relating to me. I only learned this morning and am still reacting to it. I have also just seen that the fight is being canceled without having any chance to demonstrate my innocence before the decision was taken.”

It is worth noting that Whyte had previously failed a UK Anti-Doping Test in 2019 before a scheduled fight against Oscar Rivas. However, he passed a VADA test both before and after that particular bout, leading to the clearance of all charges. Whyte remains determined to establish his innocence once more, saying, “This is not the first time that I have been reported as having an adverse finding for a substance which I have not taken, and as I did last time, I will again prove that I am completely innocent.” He continued to express his extreme disappointment to his fans, who will miss out on what was anticipated to be an outstanding event.

Despite the cancellation of this fight due to Whyte’s latest VADA test failure, it’s essential to note that his guilt cannot be conclusively determined at this point. As a result, the case remains unresolved, and there isn’t sufficient time to resolve everything within the next seven days.
