Voice of America

Voice of America (VOA) is a U.S. government-funded international multimedia agency that serves as an official external broadcast institution of the United States. Founded in 1942, VOA provides news, information, and cultural programming through the internet, television, and radio broadcasts in more than 40 languages worldwide.

Its mission is to promote freedom and democracy and enhance understanding through journalism that adheres to accuracy, balance, and comprehensiveness. VOA aims to serve as a consistently reliable and authoritative source of news, making it a standard for news quality and a counter to censorship and misinformation.

As part of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, it seeks to reach audiences in countries with restricted media environments, offering them perspectives and news that they might not otherwise have access to.
