A Democratic strategist jabbed his rivals Monday night on CNN during a discussion over a lawyer’s statements that his client witnessed former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor.Appearing on CNN’s “NewsNight,” Republican strategist Scott Jennings noted that details from a House Ethics Committee inquiry into the allegations against Gaetz are being leaked despite a planned vote Wednesday from House lawmakers on whether to release that report.”The information is already coming out,” he said. “Whatever other information is in there is highly likely to come out. That’s what happens in a confirmation situation.”Jennings noted Republicans can only afford to lose three in the GOP if Gaetz is to be confirmed for attorney general. Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky chimed in an idiom that the “fish kind of rots from the top” — pointing out that for all the senators who have appeared “aghast” over Gaetz, Trump himself is an “adjudicated sexual predator.””Apparently that was ok because they all endorsed him,” she said. “So for them to get all the vapors about Matt Gaetz — what did they expect was going to happen when they all fell in line behind an adjudicated sexual assailant? Of course he was going to put guys like this in place.” ALSO READ: It’s time for Democrats to declare class warfareShe later added: “Donald Trump just gave the middle finger to everybody who opposed him and said, ‘You know what? The American people elected me anyway. I’m going to do what I want.'”That’s when fellow Democratic strategist Chuck Rocha jumped into the discussion and took a swipe at his opposing party members.”All I have to say is somebody owes Madison Cawthorn an apology because y’all ran him out of town,” said Rocha to laughs. “He tried to tell y’all about these sex parties but nobody wanted to believe him.”Rocha said he was initially skeptical of Cawthorn’s stories when they first emerged. Not anymore.”Hearing it confirmed today, I’m like, ‘He was right all along and nobody wanted to listen,'” Rocha said. Cawthorn is a former Congressman from North Carolina whose political career was marked by controversy and scandal, including allegations of insider trading, improper payments, and multiple incidents involving guns.
