It turns out, redheads are total dynamos in the sack – and there’s three certain reasons why. To mark National Redhead Day on November 5, we revealed the science to it all
Attention all red-haired beauties – it turns out, your crimson locks might just make you the standout star in the bedroom. With National Redhead Day coming up on November 5, it’s the perfect time to big up our ginger mates. To commemorate this fiery occasion, a study has shown nearly one in five young ginger Brits are getting more flirty glances these days. The survey by Casumo Casino points out it should come as no surprise that gingers are grabbing more eyeballs, especially with celebs like Emma Stone and our very own Prince Harry making red hair trendy again.
A spokeswoman said: “It’s unsurprising redheads attract more attention than in previous years. Donning fiery red locks is popular among both male and female celebs. When it comes to gingers, the brighter the better.” But that’s not all – science backs up the claim that those with vermilion locks are firecrackers between the sheets. The same MC1R genes leading to their scarlet strands are apparently linked to other traits that take ginger lovemaking to another level. Whether you’re dating a redhead or you’ve got the luscious red mane yourself, that vivid hair colour could mean you’re in for an unrivalled passionate encounter.
Here’s three reasons ginger people are better in bed:
1. Redheads are having more fun between the sheets
The stereotypical fiery redhead isn’t too far from the truth. A sex researcher, from the University of Hamburg, found gingers have more sex than their blonde or brunette counterparts. Whether they’re single or in a committed relationship, redheads are more sexually active than all the other hair colours. Ginger women also have the highest orgasm rate of all hair types at 41%.
2. Redheads are more physically sensitive
The genes responsible for red hair also makes them more sensitive to touch, than men and women with other hair colours. Also people with ginger hair feel hot and cold temperatures more rapidly with a higher pain threshold. Due to higher sensitivity they are find it easier to reach the big-O.
3. Special pheromones make redheads sexually attractive
People with ginger hair have special pheromones which help attract to potential partners. According to The Redhead Encyclopedia, author Stephen Douglas explains redheads have a sweet and musky scent on their skin. There are even online forums dedicated to redheads’ alluring smell.
And if that’s not enough to convince you, the theory was even posted on TikTok by @phoebeisginger1 who revealed why redheads are attractive in a clip which racked up 33,300 likes. She said: “Number one it’s because we are the most rare people on planet Earth, when you do find a good one please make sure to lock it down. Number two and a funky one as they’re less likely to get prostate cancer. It’s something to do with our genetic makeup basically makes us less likely to get prostate cancer.”
The user also claimed another reason is because studies show redheads are more likely to get on. She added: “They’re more funky.” Since it was posted, it looks as though many people agreed. One said: “Redheaded women are either gorgeous or homely as hell.” While another added: “You are so beautiful.” Then a third admitted: “Redhead with green eyes are super rare.”
