Merseyside Police were forced to shut a stretch of the road on Sunday evening
A main road was closed by police after a man was knocked off his bike and taken to hospital. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Marine Drive in Southport, near to the junction with Marshside Road, at 4.57pm today, Sunday, October 27, to reports that a crash had taken place between an Audi and a bike.
The force arrived to find a man had suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. No arrests have been made and the road has since been reopened.
A Force Incident Manager for the police force told the ECHO earlier this evening: “We were called to reports of an road traffic collision between a car and a bicycle at 4.47pm. One male suffered minor injuries and has been taken to hospital. The road will reopen shortly.”
