The Voice UK wrapped up its latest series on ITV1 last night, with Ava Mannings taking the coveted 2023 title.
Joined onstage by her mentors Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, Mannings gave a final rousing performance to resounding cheers and confetti showers.
Mannings triumphed over competitors Deb Orah, Storry, Billy, and Louie, snagging a lucrative recording contract with Universal, a £50,000 prize purse, and a dream vacation at Universal Resort in Orlando.
Despite the jubilance for Ava’s victory, viewers are buzzing on social media about future tweaks to the show’s format.
On X, which was once called Twitter, a fan posted: “#thevoiceuk needs to bring back the battles and public vote @itv @thevoiceuk”, reports the Mirror.

Another lamented: “My one problem with #TheVoiceUK is that it’s gone before it’s even started. Most of the series was taken up by auditions, and because of that, the battles and final felt completely rushed.”
A different viewer voiced out: “Too much talent lost too early. At least bring back the battles #itv #thevoiceuk.”
A further comment suggested: “@thevoiceuk I think next year you should bring the battles back and have live shows it would be so much better and by having battles the series will last longer.”
A fifth viewer expressed disappointment, saying: “Honestly ITV need to take it back to the original format or just axe it. I was a big fan of The Voice, but I’ve completely lost interest in the show since they got rid of the battles, knockouts and not having a single live show #TheVoiceUK.”
Meanwhile, another added their thoughts on the show’s structure: “The Voice auditions go on for weeks, the semi final and final takes only two weeks.”
They continued, highlighting the imbalance: “It’s disproportionate. Need the battles back then quarter finals, semi and then the finals #TheVoice #thevoiceuk #voiceuk.”
In the latest series, stalwarts Tom Jones and Will. I.Am marked their 13th series on The Voice UK, maintaining their presence since the inception of the show.
Joining them this season were new coach LeAnn Rimes and the groundbreaking coaching duo of Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, who are the first pair to share a coaching role on the programme.
The Voice UK is available to watch on ITVX now.
