Celeb Gogglebox: Lesley Joseph drops a C-bomb
Celebrity Gogglebox viewers were left in disbelief when a renowned face let slip the “dropped the c-bomb” on air. The much-loved series was back on our screens Friday (October 25) for a Stand Up To Cancer special, packed with celebrities ready to give their take on contemporary television.
The episode saw famous names like Frank Skinner, Miriam Margolyes, and Kristin Scott Thomas settling in front of the telly to comment on recent programmes. But during a segment where Lesley Joseph and Miriam Margolyes were watching the quiz show Only Connect, things took an uncomfortable twist.
Caught up in the intensity of the moment, Lesley exclaimed: “C***” after a contestant’s incorrect answer. Quick-witted Miriam responded: “Well I thought that but I thought I better not say it,” prompting laughter from Lesley.

Fans didn’t miss the unexpected expletive either, heading straight to social media to share their reactions. One viewer tweeted: “Watching #gogglebox thinking Jesus what is going to come out of Miriam’s mouth tonight and Lesley Joseph drops the C bomb first, was not expecting that.”, reports the Mirror.
Another fan expressed amusement: “Lesley Joseph just dropped the C bomb on Celebrity Gogglebox Legend! ” And another was pleasantly surprised: “I never thought I’d hear Lesley Joseph c bomb but I’m so glad I have. Anyone who says that word is a good person in my book.”
The celebrity line-up this time around has even more familiar faces taking part. Football ace Jordan Pickford, boxer and ‘I’m A Celeb’ contestant Tony Bellew, comedian Josh Widdicombe, and actor Stephen Merchant are among those joining the show.
British actress Miriam shared her enthusiasm with fans: “When they asked me to do Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer, I thought, ‘Well, if I can watch television AND raise money for a wonderful cause, count me in!”
She continued: “What could be better than that and doing it with my brilliant old friend of nearly 40 years, Lesley Joseph? She’s wise and funny and knows everyone; a perfect partner in crime. Also, Stand Up to Cancer does vital work, and if we two old birds can help towards that – just show me the sofa, I’m all for it.”
Her long-time pal Lesley chipped in with equal zest: “What a joy it is to be doing Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer this year, as it’s such a vital cause and tangibly changes lives. And what fun it’ll be to sit and watch some TV with Miriam Margolyes.”
