Bruce Springsteen is set to fulfil a long held dream when he performs in Liverpool. The legendary musician will play two nights at Anfield next summer as part of his 2025 European tour.
Thousands will descend on L4 to watch The Boss at the home of Liverpool FC on Wednesday, June 4 and Saturday June 7, 2025. Bruce may now be aged 75 but he is showing no signs of slowing down as he has released a new documentary on Disney + titled Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.
The new documentary explores how the rock star prepares for his incredible live performances, which are famed for their energy and passion. Bruce sat down for an interview with Simon Mayo for Greatest Hits Radio to mark the show’s release.
The broadcaster asked the Born to Run singer about his upcoming UK tour and his dates in Liverpool. He said: “When I spoke to you in 2016, I had a listener’s question which was when are you going to play Liverpool? And you said, ‘well, I guess I should do.”

Bruce admitted it was a long-held dream for any American to visit Liverpool as he looks forward to laying his eyes on Merseyside for the first time. He said: ” I’m very excited about that.
“I’ve never been there. If you come from America, you want to see Liverpool.” The Boss likened Liverpool to some of the biggest landmarks in his home state of New Jersey.
He said: “It’s like people come from all over the world and they want to see Freehold [Township] or they want to see Asbury Park… I have never been to Liverpool and I want to see it.”
Simon assured Bruce that he will like what he sees when he eventually arrives. He said: “You’re going and I think you’re going to have a fantastic time. They’re going to love you very much.”
Bruce has been performing in the UK for over 50 years and he always loves crossing the Atlantic to perform. He said: “I’ve been coming here for 50 years. Since I was a 25-year-old kid and I’m now a 75-year-old man. I’ve been coming here that long. We have dedicated fans in the UK that are really wonderful.”

Anfield is now a destination of choice for leading acts across the world and concerts held over the past five years have helped boost the local economy and provided thousands of jobs for local people. Since 2019 a total of seven artists have played 11 concerts at Anfield with close to half a million people visiting the stadium, seeing the local economy boosted by more than £31 million.
Bruce is part of a star studded set of concerts in L4 next year along with Dua Lipa and Billy Joel. The rock star first confirmed he would be playing Liverpool earlier this month when he announced the date on June 4.
However, he announced a second date on June 7 due to incredible demand. In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Ticketmaster said: “Due to phenomenal demand, a second Bruce Springsteen date at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium has just been added for 7 June 2025.”
