Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in stitches as they spotted Nikita Kuzmin’s shocked face during Sunday’s elimination show.
Strictly: Paul Merson is eliminated following dance-off
Nikita Kuzmin’s stunned reaction to the latest dance-off news on Strictly Come Dancing has had viewers in fits of laughter.
The professional dancer couldn’t hide his astonishment when host Tess Daly broke the news that JLS star JB Gill and his dance partner Amy Dowden were up for the dance-off. Captured on camera with his eyes bulging and jaw dropped, Nikita, alongside his own partner Sam Quek, looked visibly taken aback at the announcement regarding JB.
Social media was soon buzzing with fans echoing Nikita’s surprise. One fan posted a snapshot of Nikita’s bewildered expression with the comment: “Me too, Nikita, me too.”
Others chimed in with tweets like: “Nikita’s reaction was so me, what do you mean Amy and JB are in the dance off? ! ” and “Same Nikita, same.”
Additional comments included: “Nikita is all of us.”, reports the Mirror. With another viewer expressing a wish: “I need a screenshot of Nikita’s shocked face.”
Another Strictly enthusiast remarked: “Nikita’s face at JB in the dance-off says it all!”

Despite being in the bottom two on the leaderboard, JB and Amy ultimately secured their spot over Paul Merson and Karen Hauer thanks to the judges’ decision. Yet, following JB’s close call, some Strictly followers are speculating about a potential new “curse” tied to the show’s performance order.
Fans are drawing parallels between JB and Shayne Ward, as both have shone consistently in the ballroom; however, finding themselves in the bottom two despite early performances last and this week has led to discussions on social media.
One fan posted on X, sharing their observation: “Again the curse of going first and being middle of the leaderboard. Remember to save your favourites – they’re not always safe!” Another observed the apparent bad luck of the ‘first to dance’ slot, commenting: “first to dance on the live show curse has struck AGAIN.”
Post-Strictly exit, when Tess asked Paul about his experience, he responded positively: “It’s been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you’ve got to go on this show. It’s amazing – everybody,” cheekily throwing in: “There’s a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln and even he’s nice!”
He continued with high praise for professional partner Karen, expressing heartfelt gratitude: “It’s been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I’ve had a great teacher. She’s been amazing, absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t wish for a better coach. I’ve loved every minute of it. I can dance now. I won because I can dance. I couldn’t dance before, but I can half dance now. It’s a bonus, absolute bonus.”
Similarly, Karen had warm words for Paul, highlighting his exemplification of the Strictly spirit through significant strides in skill. She reflected: “Absolutely, you’ve been a joy. I’ve never giggled this much. My abs are really tight now. I am so proud of you. Every week you have showed up, you have improved.
“You’re what Strictly is about, and I want to thank you for bringing such joy and just showing everyone that it is possible with a little bit of work and lots of giggles.”
The popular show Strictly will be back next week with a Halloween special. The remaining 11 celebrities will perform routines themed around Halloween on the dance floor in their most frightening costumes.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday on BBC One.
