Hollywood stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis recently posted a video on Instagram addressing their involvement in the sentencing of their former co-star, Danny Masterson, who has been convicted of raping two women. In the video, they clarified that their intention was not to undermine the victims’ testimony or cause them further trauma.
Masterson, known for his role alongside Kutcher and Kunis in “That 70s Show,” has been sentenced to serve 30 years to life in prison. One of the victims described him as “pathetic, disturbed, and completely violent.” Surprisingly, letters of support emerged from former cast members and even siblings, with Kunis referring to him as a “role model” and Kutcher praising his dedication and loyalty.
Ashton Kutcher expressed, “We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson.” He revealed that Masterson’s family had asked them to write these letters to represent the person they had known for 25 years. Their goal was to provide the judge with a well-rounded perspective for consideration during sentencing.
Mila Kunis added, “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling.” They emphasized that their intention was solely to offer character references and not to harm the victims.
In the video, Kunis concluded, “Our heart goes out to every single person who has ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse, or rape.” Their message underscores their support for victims and their commitment to continuing this support in the future.
