Home Bargains is stocking a ‘spacious’ £9.99 cabin bag just in time for summer. With many holidaymakers on the lookout for ‘stylish’ cabin bags ahead of their upcoming getaways, the discount retailer could have exactly what families need.
The bargain chain is selling a new Salisburys Carry-On Cabin Lightweight Backpack that has been ‘extensively tested to stand the rigours of today’s travel,’ according to the product description. Showcasing the bag on its website, Home Bargains said: “Travel light and in style with the Salisburys Carry-On Cabin Lightweight Backpack in sleek black!
“Perfect for your adventures, this spacious yet compact backpack is designed for easy packing and effortless carrying. Every Salisburys product has been designed, manufactured and extensively tested to stand the rigours of today’s travel.
“Every Light Luggage product has been designed, manufactured and extensively tested to stand the rigours of today’s travel.” The store claims the bag ‘conforms to most major airlines’ cabin luggage size’, and it measures approximately 45 x 30 x 15cm.
This means it could be an ideal option for easyJet and Jet2 passengers searching for a suitable cabin bag. As per easyJet’s website, each passenger is permitted to carry one bag measuring 45 x 36 x 20cm on board free of charge, reports the Mirror.
The airline says: “Everyone can bring one small under seat cabin bag per person on board for free. It can be a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and must be kept under the seat in front of you. Your bag can weigh up to 15kg, but we do ask that you’re able to lift and carry it yourself.”
Jet2 also allows passengers to carry hand luggage measuring 56cm x 45cm x 25cm on board for free. The airline says: “On all our Jet2.com flights, each passenger has a 10kg hand luggage allowance included as standard (excluding infants).
“You can also bring one small under-seat bag onboard (such as a handbag or laptop bag) as long as it fits under the seat in front of you.” The website explains: “You can take one piece of hand luggage onboard free of charge, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (including wheels and handles).
“You can also bring a small, under-seat bag onboard (such as a handbag, laptop bag or airport purchase), as long as it doesn’t exceed 40 x 30 x 20cm in size and can be placed underneath the seat in front of you.” As such, customers could use the Home Bargains backpack as their hand luggage. However, it would not be suitable for use as a small under-seat bag with the airline.
For shoppers looking for something different, Home Bargains stocks a variety of cabin bags. Other discount retailers, such as B&M and Primark, also offer options. Regardless of the bag that shoppers choose, it’s advised to measure your luggage once it is packed. Always check with your airline before travel.
