An eight-year-old child was taken to hospital after being struck by a car. Emergency services were called to the intersection of Worcester Road and Earl Road in Bootle at around 5.40pm on Thursday, April 9 following reports of a crash.
The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa and the child, who was riding a scooter at the time. The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for treatment, a police spokesperson confirmed.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene. When the ECHO arrived, a police cordon was in place, with several community support officers on guard.
Motorists were being diverted away from the area. The road has since reopened.
