The air ambulance landed after a fire broke out in a ground floor flat
The air ambulance has landed in Southport after a woman was burnt in a fire, the ECHO understands.
The North West Air Ambulance landed at land off Hoghton Street in the town on this evening, Sunday, April 12, with emergency services including police, firefighters and paramedics responding to a fire in a flat on Manchester Road.
Three fire engines arrived at the scene at 5.34pm. One person was found conscious at the scene and was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO police were assisting Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service following a fire, and that a woman had sustained burns in the incident.
Data from Flight Radar 24 shows the helicopter took off from Southport and headed north towards Blackpool, landing at its base at Blackpool International Airport at 6.39pm.
Cadent, a firm which provides emergency support on utilities, also attended.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was a fire in a ground floor flat, that was out on arrival.
“One occupant, conscious and breathing, was assessed at scene by North West Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
“Merseyside Police and Cadent also attended.”
