Zia Yusuf warns Donald Trump against mass human suffering as US prepares for Iran blitz in just hours

Zia Yusuf has weighed in on President Donald Trump’s myriad of threats to Iran, including warnings that the US could destroy critical civilian infrastructure in the Islamic Republic. Speaking to GB News this morning, Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman issued a caution to Washington to avoid “mass human suffering”. Mr Trump repeated threats to “unleash hell” on Iran’s critical infrastructure on Monday, including against “every bridge” and “every power plant”.The US President today vowed to destroy Iran’s “whole civilisation” and declared “extortion, corruption and death will end” if Tehran fails to strike a deal with the US.

Before the US leader’s most explosive threat, Mr Yusuf told GB News that a hypothetical Reform Government would carefully consider the extent to which to support Washington in such a venture. “I think that would be a very serious decision that would need to be examined in the context of what those operations were,” Mr Yusuf told The People’s Channel. Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman confirmed he was “not in favour of striking national critical infrastructure”, including desalination plants. He instead argued such an attack would inevitably “cause mass civilian human suffering”.“I think that would be a mistake from the White House and a big human tragedy,” Mr Yusuf added. “So I think we ought to look at that.”He was questioned on the stance after it emerged the UK was set to deny US warplanes access to British bases to launch such strikes. Downing Street has previously said it would only allow the use of British air bases for “defensive” capabilities.LATEST DEVELOPMENTS’He took her life in 90 seconds’ – Mother heartbreakingly recalls illegal migrant attackDonald Trump vows to destroy Iran’s ‘whole civilisation’ in hours and declares ‘extortion will end’‘Donald Trump sees Keir Starmer as a weak link who has inflicted extreme damage,’ says Hadley GambleSir Keir Starmer is expected to deny the US use of UK bases if bridges or power plants were raised as targets. While addressing the situation in Iran, Mr Yusuf despaired that the crisis had exposed Britain’s inability to “project power on any sensible timeline”.He said: “We should not forget that British sovereign territory was struck. Our RAF base in Cyprus was struck. We could not put a destroyer in the theatre battle on any sensible timeframe. “We then found out the current Minister of Defence doesn’t even know how many vessels His Majesty’s Royal Navy has.”“What Reform is primarily focused on is the interests of the British people. “We make no apologies for this and for forming the next general election. “Nigel Farage as our Prime Minister, he will make every single decision through one lens and one lens only: What is in the interest of the British people?Reform UK leader Nigel Farage also addressed the relationship between the US and the UK at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. “I have a major, major worry that the relationship with America is looking very broken. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a Biden in the White House or a Trump in the White House,” Mr Farage said. “We’ve got to face the fact that without America, we are virtually defenceless.“If I were British Prime Minister, I’d say to Trump, ‘ What is the aim? What is the objective? What is the endgame? What is the way out?”“Provided I receive satisfactory answers to those questions, I would say the continued use of our bases was the right thing to do.”“I think for us to finish up breaking the alliance with America would put this country in very grave peril,” Mr Farage concluded.
