Zia Yusuf has weighed in on President Donald Trump’s myriad of threats to Iran, including warnings that the US could destroy critical civilian infrastructure in the Islamic Republic. Speaking to GB News this morning, Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman issued a caution to Washington to avoid “mass human suffering”. Mr Trump repeated threats to “unleash hell” on Iran’s critical infrastructure on Monday, including against “every bridge” and “every power plant”.The US President today vowed to destroy Iran’s “whole civilisation” and declared “extortion, corruption and death will end” if Tehran fails to strike a deal with the US.

Before the US leader’s most explosive threat, Mr Yusuf told GB News that a hypothetical Reform Government would carefully consider the extent to which to support Washington in such a venture. “I think that would be a very serious decision that would need to be examined in the context of what those operations were,” Mr Yusuf told The People’s Channel. Reform UK’s home affairs spokesman confirmed he was “not in favour of striking national critical infrastructure”, including desalination plants. He instead argued such an attack would inevitably “cause mass civilian human suffering”.“I think that would be a mistake from the White House and a big human tragedy,” Mr Yusuf added. “So I think we ought to look at that.”He was questioned on the stance after it emerged the UK was set to deny US warplanes access to British bases to launch such strikes. Our RAF base in Cyprus was struck.
