Hunter Biden has thrown down the gauntlet to President Donald Trump’s two eldest sons, declaring himself fully committed to facing them in a cage fight. The former first son issued his challenge through a video posted on Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5 Instagram account.”I told him I’d do it, 100 per cent in if he can pull it off. And if he can’t, I’m still coming,” the 56-year-old stated in the clip.Mr Biden explained that Mr Callaghan, a YouTuber and social media commentator, had contacted him about organising the bout against Donald Jr and Eric Trump.

He indicated he would be joining Mr Callaghan’s multi-city tour across the American southwest, with stops planned in Phoenix, San Diego and Albuquerque later this month. The challenge has generated considerable reaction across social media platforms.White House Communications Director Steven Cheung responded dismissively on X, writing: “Hunter wouldn’t even be able to pass a p*** test.”The Trump Organisation has not formally addressed the challenge.Should the bout come to fruition, it would represent an unprecedented spectacle as America prepares to mark its 250th year of independence. The timing coincides with separate White House plans for a UFC event featuring professional fighters on June 14, forming part of the nation’s semiquincentennial celebrations.Whether Mr Biden would receive payment for participating in the cage match or his appearances at Mr Callaghan’s tour events remains unclear.Newsmax host Rob Schmitt suggested that agreeing to the fight would benefit Mr Biden financially, adding: “This would be a huge gift to Hunter if the Trump brothers said yes. He needs the cash desperately. They don’t.”LATEST DEVELOPMENTSWill Kingston warns Iran believes Donald Trump is ‘full of empty threats’ amid fragile ceasefireKeir Starmer holds call with Donald Trump just hours after saying he was ‘fed up’ with US PresidentLabour’s Deputy Leader urges colleagues not to plunge party into ‘nasty and bloody internal contest’ as she warns of impending devastating lossesThe challenge comes amid significant financial difficulties for the former first son, who court documents reveal now resides overseas. His attorney Barry Coburn stated in a filing submitted on April 6 in Washington DC that Mr Biden is “impecunious” and cannot afford to pay his outstanding legal fees.Law firm Winston and Strawn, which defended Mr Biden in his tax and gun crimes cases, is suing him for unpaid bills exceeding $50,000.Mr Coburn acknowledged in the court papers that neither he nor his client knows the ultimate amount owed, adding that Mr Biden cannot even afford to pay his current lawyers.During a podcast appearance last year, Mr Biden himself admitted to being in $17million of debt relating to legal fees. He previously relied on Hollywood attorney Kevin Morris, who loaned him more than $6.5million.The proposed confrontation draws comparisons to the much-speculated 2023 challenge between Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla owner Elon Musk, which ultimately never came to fruition.American political history has witnessed far more serious physical confrontations between prominent figures. The most infamous example remains the 1804 duel in which Vice President Aaron Burr fatally shot former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton, an encounter that ended Mr Hamilton’s life and destroyed Mr Burr’s political career.Democratic strategists have weighed in on the potential outcome, with Chris D. Jackson posting on X that “Hunter would beat the brakes off of them.”Fellow Democratic strategist Adam Parkhomenko expressed similar confidence, claiming Mr Biden “could take them both at the same time.”The challenge remains in its early stages, with no confirmed date or venue announced.
