WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed tech heavyweights including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to a new advisory council — but his former close ally Elon Musk has been left out. The White House said on Wednesday that the council will make recommendations to the president on how to strengthen American leadership in science and technology. Among the members are Google co-founder Sergei Brin, PC entrepreneur Michael Dell and software billionaire Larry Ellison, who is known as a Trump supporter and is currently also becoming a media mogul with the planned takeover of Warner Brothers. In recent months, many top managers in the tech industry have sought proximity to Trump’s White House. Musk, by far the richest person in the world, runs the electric car manufacturer Tesla and the space company SpaceX as well as other businesses.
