Emergency services attended the scene
A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash on a busy road. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) were called to Tarbock Road in Huyton at around 7.42am on Tuesday, March 24, following reports of a crash involving a scooter.
The scooter rider was given first aid by firefighters before North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene. She was then taken to hospital by ambulance, having suffered a suspected leg and arm injury.
Merseyside Police was contacted by MFRS at 7.45am, with the road partially closed while the incident was cleared. Motorists driving in the area at the time reported “bumper to bumper” traffic on social media as a result of the incident, worsened by ongoing roadworks on Tarbock Road.
A spokesperson for MFRS said; “Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service (MFRS) was in attendance at an incident on Tarbock Road, Huyton earlier this morning, Tuesday, 24 March.
“One fire engine was on scene at 7.42am.
“On arrival, firefighters found one single vehicle road traffic collision. One casualty was given first aid by firefighters prior to ambulance attendance.
“Once North West Ambulance Service was on scene (NWAS), the casualty was put in the care of paramedics.
“MFRS handed over the scene to Merseyside Police and NWAS and left the incident at 8.41am.”
