Kayleigh Bradley is due to appear in court
A woman has been named in connection with the assault of a delivery driver and two police officers. Officers were in the County Road area of Liverpool where they witnessed a delivery driver being assaulted yesterday morning, March 29.
The force said the incident was reported and uniformed officers who were nearby attended and arrested a woman on suspicion of assault. A spokesperson for the force said after they had cautioned her she “assaulted one of the officers and ran off”.
But when she ran the woman fell over and caught her arm on a spiked, low metal fence surrounding the front door of a house on Church Road West. Merseyside Police said the woman allegedly assaulted another officer who was trying to provide first aid with the help of a paramedic.
A cordon was put in place on Church Road West for a period of time on Sunday.
The police force has now announced a woman has been charged in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We have charged Kayleigh Bradley, 38, of Aigburth Vale, with assault by beating and two counts of assault a constable in the execution of his/her duty.
“She was remanded into custody to appear at South Sefton Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 30 March.”
The ECHO was told by residents on the street the incident happened at around 11am.
When the ECHO arrived at the scene on Sunday, a small section of Church Road West had been cordoned off covering around half a dozen houses on each side of the street. Officers from two vehicles, including an undercover car, were also in attendance.
A forensic officer from one of the force’s scientific support units was also carrying out investigations on the pavement in front of one of the houses.
