The Liverpool FC icon posed for pictures and signed memorabilia at a special event to mark the launch of Pro:Direct Soccer today
Steven Gerrard thrilled fans as he made a surprise appearance last night (March 27) to mark a new shop opening in Liverpool ONE. Pro:Direct Soccer is the latest addition to the shopping centre and will officially open its doors on Manesty’s Lane to the public at 9am today (March 28).
Housed inside the lower levels of what was formerly the Flannels and Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols sites, the new shop offers performance gear, training essentials and terrace-inspired fashion. In celebration of doors opening, a special event was held on Friday night that was attended by none other than the Liverpool FC icon.
A special exhibition was erected in store that featured some of Gerrard’s most iconic boots and signed shirts. To coincide with the launch, Gerrard appeared as the guest for a live recording of The Boot Room podcast as he talked through the boots that defined his career with host John Fendley, better known by his nickname “Fenners”.
Before filming for the episode took place, Gerrard took part in a special meet and greet as he posed for photos and signed memorabilia for excited fans. The 45-year-old was in a relaxed mood as he chatted to supporters, who were delighted to see the iconic midfielder in the flesh.
It is a big weekend for Gerrard as he is preparing to lead out the LFC legends in a match against Borussia Dortmund at Anfield at 3pm today. The Boot Room episode he recorded last night is set to be released over the coming weeks.
The ECHO was in attendance and captured photos as the Reds icon interacted with supporters.
