The plane was forced to make a diversion
A Ryanair flight bound for Liverpool was forced land in Portugal after a passenger reportedly became disruptive. Flight FR6575, travelling from Lanzarote to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, was diverted to Faro Airport on Thursday evening (March 19).
According to flight tracking data, the aircraft departed Arrecife on time at 6.50pm before landing in Faro at around 8.55pm. Passengers said the diversion followed reports of disorderly behaviour on board.
Megan, 26, from Liverpool, told the ECHO: “We got a call over the tannoy to say we were having to make an emergency landing. It had been a bit noisy at the start of the flight.
She said police boarded the aircraft after it landed and removed a man from the flight.
“The plane landed, the police came on and arrested a man and took him off. We’re still on the ground while they speak to the crew and refuel the plane.
“He left quietly once the police came on, there was no confrontation.
“We heard shouting but didn’t see anything physical as we were sat in front of where it happened.”
