The former TOWIE star has relocated to Dubai with her husband, Rio Ferdinand

Kate Ferdinand has broken her silence as she confirmed the family is safe following US and Israel’s attack on Iran that has led to escalated tensions in the Middle East. Kate, who is married to former England international Rio Ferdinand, relocated to Dubai with the family last year.

Iran has launched a series of retaliatory attacks on US bases which has impacted parts of the United Arab Emirates. Kate has taken to Instagram to issue a statement as she thanked her 1.4m followers for their concern. She said: “Thank you for all your messages and sorry for the silence, I haven’t wanted to worry you all.

“I just haven’t been able to find the words. We are safe. The government are doing an amazing job of keeping it that way and despite my nerves I feel we are in very safe hands. We are hoping for a calmer evening tonight, last night was very scary.

“Although Cree and Shae loved it as they couldn’t believe we all got a sleepover in the basement. Thank you for all of your prayers, this whole experience is very eye opening and I am praying for anyone affected. Lots of love to everyone.

A number of famous faces have been caught up in the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Strictly’s Vicky Pattison, who studied at Liverpool John Moores University, took to social media yesterday and said she was stranded in Dubai after UAE airspace was closed.

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky was enjoying a holiday with her husband, Ercan Ramadan and was set to travel from Dubai to Australia, but her flight was cancelled.

She said: “Ercan and I were due to fly to Sydney this evening. But like many others out flight was cancelled and we are now effectively stuck in Dubai.

“We are receiving a lot of messages from people asking if we’re ok which we are. We are currently in our hotel and have been assured we’re safe.

“We are aware that the situation that is unfolding is scary and I’m also aware that there’s a lot of videos circulating on social media which are understandably concerning.

“I’m not sure what else to say, other than we’re doing our best to stay calm, not feed any unconfirmed narratives and we’re thinking of everyone who is feeling unsettled and unsafe right now.”

Earlier yesterday Vicky had shared a video of herself and her husband eating breakfast in the world’s highest outdoor infinity pool at Zeta Seventy Seven at the Address Beach Resort in Dubai.

Former Love Island star Laura Anderson had also recently arrived in Dubai with her daughter Bonnie when the Iranian retaliation started and air defence fire was seen over the UAE’s commercial hub.

She wrote on Instagram: “Horrendous situation. Bonnie and I are fine.” Her fellow Love Island star Arabella Chi is also in Dubai with her daughter Gigi and wrote on Instagram: “Dubai friends. Scary times. Stay safe.”
