Gemma Collins has confessed she’s seeking “redemption” on I’m a Celebrity… South Africa.
The former TOWIE favourite has joined the forthcoming all-stars version of the jungle programme, where she’ll be sharing the camp with fellow celebrities including Scarlett Moffatt, Seann Walsh and Mo Farah, reports the Express.
It comes 12 years after her appearance on the main ITV series, which she famously left after merely three days. Gemma became one of the briefest participants in the programme’s history, having found it difficult to adapt to the harsh living conditions in the Australian jungle.
Following this week’s announcement of the I’m a Celebrity… South Africa line-up, 45-year-old Gemma posted a message on Instagram telling her followers: “R.E.D.E.M.P.T.I.O.N. 2.0.”

She subsequently revealed in a radio interview: “Do you know what? I’ve reached an age where it’s like, fight the fear and do it anyway.”
She continued: “And I’ve read a lot of, like, empowerment books and, you know, challenging your own self.
“Diamonds are literally made from pressure. And unless you put yourself under that pressure, you don’t know what you can become.
“So, for me, being put under such pressure, such strain, such smells, such circumstances, such trials, I came out a diamond.”
The celebrities participating in the spin-off series include actor Adam Thomas, pop legend Sinitta, comedian Seann Walsh and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts. Soap star Bev Callard, Olympian Mo Farah, boxer David Haye, actor Craig Charles, footballer Jimmy Bullard and Harry Redknapp are also joining the programme, which will be presented by Ant and Dec.
ITV has teased that the new series will be “on a whole new level”, with challenges that are “tougher than ever”.
“With relentless twists and turns, the campmates will never know what’s coming next,” the broadcaster said.
“They will be faced with challenges at every turn, quickly learning that with big decisions come even bigger consequences…”
