A Liverpool-based social media media account spreading misinformation and Merseyside’s BAFTA nominees are among five of the Liverpool ECHO’s premium articles today

Here are five premium stories published by the Liverpool Echo you may have missed today
1) ‘Just been sent this’ – How a popular Liverpool social media account went from memes to misinformation
While schools, mainstream media and emergency services provided accurate and up-to-date information amid recent hoax bomb threats to schools across Merseyside, one social media account, Around Liverpool, shared misinformation via their accounts.
On March 9 when the bomb hoaxes were made, Around Liverpool posted a video “bomb hoax person being arrested”, a voice note saying “this is not a drill” and a video of a car on fire. They were all unrelated or untrue.
When confronted by the ECHO about the account’s activity, Around Liverpool said: “I am willing to cooperate with the police, council and people like yourselves to make sure what I am doing is both legal and ethical.” Read the full story here
2) ‘I want people to know how devastating ketamine can be – because it’s life-changing’
A former frequent ketamine user, Lilith White, has spoken out in an attempt to raise awareness about just how damaging the drug can be.
She told the ECHO: “This is why I am sharing part of my experience because I want people to know how devastating ket can be, and I want young people to be fully aware of the consequences because in the end, it’s permanently life-changing, and I don’t want anymore people to go through what I’m going through now.” Read the full story here
3) Best friends keeping an old tradition alive on Duke Street
Best friends, Andreas Doukanaris and Konstantinos Xenos, are keeping made-to-measure tailoring alive as their business, Andréa Kọsta, goes from strength to strength as they have supplied suits for footballers including Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas and former Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

4) Everything jury have heard so far after XL bully ‘savaged’ and killed man, 84
An XL bully owner, Sean Garner has been on trial this week after his dog “savaged” pensioner John McColl in February 2025.
The attack unfolded after John McColl mistakenly entered a driveway before he was attacked by the dog, which was later shot 10 times by police after failed attempts by members of the public to bring the attack to an end.

Working class representation in British television is at an all time low, but despite that, a number of Scousers are leading a charge on the national stage.
