Catherine Tyldesley has shared a “proud” update as she celebrated the birthday of her son, Alfie James. The Coronation Street star uploaded a series of pictures with her son to Instagram as she marked the special occasion.
The actress, who plays the role of Eva Price on the famous Coronation Street cobbles, wrote: “Happy Birthday Alfie James! I can’t begin to express how proud I am of the wonderful gentleman you are becoming. You are the most beautiful, kind soul.
“Your talent and humour amaze me every day. You are the best big brother to Iris. Please never lose that kindness you carry, the way you make people laugh and feel included, your funny bones, you’re so clever, so creative, so caring.”
She continued: “I thank God for you every day. My beautiful man. Happy Birthday, may all your dreams come true. We love you endlessly.”
The star received supportive messages after the announcement. Michelle Keegan wrote: “Awww happy birthday Alf” and Michelle Hardwick added “Happy Birthday Alfie.”
Other comments included: “May he always just be Alfie” and “Happy birthday! I hope you have the most wonderful Wednesday you could ever dream of.”
Catherine began dating personal trainer Tom Pitfield in January 2014 after meeting at the gym. After nine months they announced they were expecting their first child together and quickly got engaged.
Catherine told OK! at the time: “No one’s been shocked at how quickly we’ve moved because people can see how happy we are.
“People say when you meet the one you just know. I’ve thought, it doesn’t happen like that, but three months in I knew. We never argue. He makes me laugh until I cry.”
In March 2015, Catherine and Tom welcomed their first child together, a son named Alfie James. Their second child, daughter Iris Ella, was born in 2022.
In May 2016, Catherine and Tom got married at a ceremony attended by many Coronation Street co-stars.
