Merseyside Police arrested three men
Merseyside Police arrested three men after a gang barged into a man’s home and stole his dog. Officers were called to Swan Avenue in the Parr area of St Helens at around 9.55pm on Tuesday, February 24 following reports of an aggravated burglary.
A group of men reportedly barged into a property, attacked the occupant, a man in his 30s, and stole his dog. It’s understood the gang also tried to steal his motorbike. The dog has since been returned to its owner. The man was taken to hospital to be checked over for a suspected head injury.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and local residents reported hearing shouting. The ECHO was told at the time that around eight marked police cars and undercover cars swarmed the street.
In an update today, March 11, Merseyside Police confirmed a 51-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent and possession of a controlled drug, Class A.
He has been conditionally bailed.
A 36-year-old man from Litherland was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, and a third man, also aged 51 and from St Helens, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
All three men have been conditionally bailed.
