JD Vance is heading to Pakistan to speak with Tehran officials as the war in Iran rumbles on. A Pakistani official told reporters that direct talks on ending the war involving the Vice President could be held in Islamabad as soon as this week, after Mr Vance held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning. The US Vice President, alongside special envoy Steve Witkoff and White House official Jared Kushner, is expected to meet Iranian officials in Islamabad this week, following a call between President Donald Trump and Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir.Iranian media reported that Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks about the impact of the war on regional and global security.
