‘It’s over!’ Nigel Farage slams ’embarrassing’ Labour after Donald Trump issues damning dig at PM

Nigel Farage has taken aim at Labour’s “embarrassing” display after Donald Trump issued a damning dig at the Prime Minister earlier today.Since the US-Israeli war on Iran broke out over the weekend, Sir Keir Starmer has re-emphasised that Britain “played no role” in the initial strikes on Tehran. On GB News, when asked repeatedly if Britain backed the US-Israeli “pre-emptive” strikes on Iran on Saturday morning, Defence Secretary John Healey repeated the UK “was no part of the strikes yesterday and overnight”.”There we go. Not me guv. Nothing to do with us, not our problem,” Nigel mocked.

“And then the Defence Secretary came on GB News on Sunday morning. What I thought was frankly an embarrassing display.”Mr Healey refused to answer any questions about the UK deciding not to let the US use military bases to launch any rockets.”No wonder the Americans are upset, but the defence of this Government all the time is this concept that I don’t really understand, but it’s called international law,” Nigel derisively added. However, appearing before MPs on Monday, Sir Keir batted off criticism over the move, saying Britain had learned from “the lessons of history that it is important when we make decisions like this, that we establish there is a lawful basis for what the United Kingdom is doing”.Expressing hope there could be a “viable thought-through plan”, he continued: “That is one of the lessons from Iraq.”That is the principle that I applied to the decisions that I made over the weekend. This Government does not believe in regime change from the skies.”Nigel went on to mock Sir Keir further, saying: “I think international law means you don’t defend your own interests, you don’t defend your own people.”You don’t stand up for anything that you believe in.LATEST ON DONALD TRUMP:Donald Trump lashes out at Keir Starmer over Iran war – ‘This isn’t Churchill we’re dealing with!’Labour MP hits back at Donald Trump after accusing Keir Starmer of being ‘no Winston Churchill’Keir Starmer accused of ‘backing the Iranian regime over Donald Trump’ by Tory frontbencher”You just allow sort of foreign judges somewhere else to make a decision. Well, is it any wonder that the Americans are upset?”The UK has now permitted the US to launch missiles from UK bases. However, the US President subsequently lashed out against the Prime Minister and declared the Labour leader was “no Churchill” in a damning personal dig.Speaking about Labour’s Chagos “surrender” deal at the White House, Mr Trump said: “That island that you read about, the lease, for whatever reason, he made a lease of the island, somebody came and took it away from him.”And it’s taken three, four days for us to work out where we can land, it would have been much more convenient landing there as opposed to flying many extra hours.”So we are very surprised. This is not Winston Churchill that we’re dealing with…”Nigel hit out: “So is the special relationship over? I have to say it’s over all the while Keir Starmer is still our Prime Minister.”However, the UK is not alone. Earlier today, the President vowed to cut off all trade with Spain after its Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, refused to allow the US to use its army bases for the same reason.”Spain has been terrible,” the 47th President said, explaining he had instructed his Treasury Secretary to “cut off all dealings” with the country.”We don’t want anything to do with Spain,” he declared. Our Standards:
