Watch the moment a fiery row broke out on GB News after a guest insisted the possibility Labour MPs could jump ship to the Greens had nothing to do with the Muslim vote. Journalist Kevin Maguire told GB News “too much politics keeps coming back to the Muslim question”, a group which makes up 6.5 per cent of the population. On Monday, The Telegraph revealed informal talks were being held between Labour MPs and the rising left-wing party, which continues to make headway in the polls. The revelation emerged after a YouGov poll showed the Greens (21 per cent) were five per cent ahead of Labour (16 per cent) while British politics becomes increasingly fragmented.

Commenting on the likelihood of defections, Mr Maguire said: “There’ve been a few councillors, but no signs of an MP yet. “Now, Zack Polanski and the Greens have an interest in talking it up. There are a lot of disillusioned Labour MPs.”Now the Greens are on the rise, he added “it’s not impossible” Labour politicians will defect.”And if they do jump, I just hope they hold by-elections because they were elected with Labour,” he added, slamming it was “appalling” those who had defected from the Conservatives to Reform had refused to hold a mid-term contest.Meanwhile, the threat of a by-election poses a “dilemma” for Sir Keir Starmer following the Gorton and Denton by-election, GB News presenter Andrew Pierce noted, when a Labour stronghold crumbled to the Greens in February – a shock result driven by “sectarian politics”, he said. Weighing in, GB News contributor Dr Renee Hoenderkamp said: “I think that by-election will be causing a lot of Labour MPs to have sleepless nights when you consider how many of them came so close or did lose their seats at the election because of the Muslim vote. “They will now be looking at this and looking at how the Greens absolutely galvanise the vote in that area, and depending on what their constituency looks like, they may well be considering it because these people are not there for you and me. “They are there for their own satisfaction.”LABOUR LATEST:Labour accused of appeasing ‘sectarian voting bloc’ as ‘anti-Muslim hostility’ definition unveiledUniversities which let extremism run riot to be shut amid Islamist fears on campusesRachel Reeves pictured with Muslim ‘fanatic’ accused of spreading 9/11 conspiracy theoriesBut Mr Maguire was adamant the possible deluge of defections to the left would not be a “Muslim question”.He said: “Too much of politics keeps coming back to the Muslim question.”This is about haemorrhaging votes on the left of Labour. And most of those voters have nothing to do with Muslims.”On Monday, a study conducted by academic and professor Eric Kaufmann revealed most of the shift from Labour to the Greens boiled down to progressive views, rather than fiscal arguments.”The progressive politics that actually issues concerns about trans rights were far more important for these people than anything to do with Islam, according to his polling,” GB News star Miriam Cates added.Dr Hoenderkamp continued: “Which is absolutely bizarre, isn’t it? The Greens hate women, you know, proper women, biological women, they hate them. “They’re throwing out of their party any woman who dares to raise the question of biological reality being the only way forward.”But Mr Maguire promptly pointed out former leader Caroline Lucas and Westminster’s newest MP Hannah Spencer would likely dispute the claim. Our Standards:
