Saudi Arabia warns against sharing missile interception footage

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior on Friday warned against photographing, publishing, or sharing any information related to intercepting hostile missiles and drones or their impact locations.The ministry said violators would face legal accountability.The warning comes amid ongoing interceptions of missiles and drones targeting the Kingdom.Earlier, Ministry of Defense launched a service through the national application “Tawakkalna” allowing users to report suspicious aerial objects.The service enables citizens and residents to report sightings of drones or missiles to ensure rapid communication and response, supporting efforts to protect the country and safeguard its capabilities.The ministry said the initiative aims to enhance response speed by ensuring reports are received in real time.Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki said the service strengthens cooperation between the public and the defense system, highlighting the role of citizens and residents in supporting national security.He added that Saudi armed forces have advanced capabilities to counter aerial threats, noting that the service represents a step forward in using technology to involve the public in identifying potential risks.
