RIYADH — Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif held a series of phone calls on Tuesday with his counterparts in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to discuss regional developments and their security implications.During the calls, the discussions focused on the ongoing security situation in the region amid what officials described as Iranian attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.Prince Abdulaziz spoke with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Bahrain’s Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Qatar’s Interior Minister and Commander of the Internal Security Force Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.The minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full support for the GCC states and stressed the importance of continued coordination, cooperation and integration to enhance regional security and stability.He also emphasized the Kingdom’s solidarity with the four countries and its support for all measures taken to safeguard their security and protect citizens and residents.The discussions highlighted the strength of fraternal ties among GCC countries and their shared commitment to maintaining regional stability.
