Republican lawmaker tears apart DOJ for making her lose ‘all faith in our justice system’

While the Justice Department has focused largely on pursuing charged against President Donald Trump’s perceived enemies, those who participated in horrific crimes are getting a pass, one GOP lawmaker said to CNN. Speaking to Manu Raju on Wednesday, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), a sexual assault victim, said the DOJ has made “no effort, not at all to prosecute predators in the [Jeffrey] Epstein cases.” As a result, she said, “I personally have lost all faith in our justice system.”She called it absurd that there would be thousands of victims while only one accomplice sits in jail. “Despite the memo released by DOJ last night, not all the Epstein files have been released. And the excuses provided for not releasing all the files will not hold up in a court of law. This isn’t going away until people go to jail,” Mace wrote on X, Sunday morning. “You’re either on the side of protecting vulnerable children or you’re on the side of protecting predators who prey on vulnerable children. There is no middle ground. You’re either with the kids or you’re against them. I know where I stand, and I’ll stay standing until every predator is held accountable,” she continued. The message comes after a Saturday night statement from Mace, who is running for governor in her state, claiming the “Work Product Privilege” wouldn’t save the DOJ from having to release further information in the files. It was reported that there were at least 6 million pages. And less than 4 million has been released thus far.She noted that the DOJ also claims in its report that “no records were withheld or redacted on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.””Then explain this: an internal FBI email from March 17, 2025, shows agents requesting ‘clear and specific guidance’ on redacting photographs depicting ‘former U.S. Presidents, Secretary of State, and other celebrities’ from the Epstein files. So which is it?” Mace asked. “You didn’t redact to protect the powerful, or you needed specific guidance on how to do exactly that? Your government is withholding information and files whether it’s SDNY, FBI, CBP, CIA, DOJ or elsewhere. Also — they’re missing names on the list disclosed this evening. Stay tuned,” she closed. Trump ally, Gen. Mike Flynn, noted that the discussion over the files is “not going away.”One far-right activist told Mace to name the names on the floor of Congress as others have pledged to do. Mace later posted, “Epstein will go down as one of the greatest cover-ups in American history.”NEW: GOP Rep. Nancy Mace tells @manukraju the Justice Department has made “no effort, not at all to prosecute predators in the Epstein cases.” She added that she has “personally have lost all faith in our justice system.” #InsidePolitics @RepNancyMace pic.twitter.com/JgG1fYuLel— Inside Politics (@InsidePolitics) February 15, 2026
