CNN hammers Maces double standard as Clintons testify on Epstein but not Melania Trump

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) was hammered on Friday by CNN’s John Berman after the House Oversight Committee interviewed former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — but refused to call current first lady Melania Trump. Berman asked Mace about one question she asked Secretary Clinton, which involved her feelings about women massaging her husband. Mace danced around the answers, claiming that she asked about Clinton’s feelings because of the implications that President Donald Trump should be called to testify. “And I think it’s fair to ask questions about the standard of the types of people, who they are, and why they should be called in for the Oversight Committee,” she dodged. “And I was making a comparison based on certain statements made yesterday, and making that clear that, you know, everybody should be treated equally.”Berman said that if everyone should be treated equally, then that means Mrs. Trump should be called to testify. Mace said that she doesn’t believe that Mrs. Trump should be called in since her husband has been “exonerated” by witnesses. “He has answered questions,” she claimed. While Trump may have answered questions from the press, he’s never done so under oath. “And the victims that I’ve spoken to actually exonerated President Trump. And so the victims I’ve spoken to and their family members have not exonerated people like former president Bill Clinton, who has denied being on the island, but I will bring out some documents today that show that Jeffrey Epstein was directing victims and or witnesses to deny he ever was at the island,” Mace said.”I think these are all things that are on the table, Republican and Democrat alike, not Melania, not President Trump. Because of the information I’ve gathered, talking to victims, I’m focused on getting justice for the victims, getting the facts right and ensuring that the truth eventually comes out,”shes aid.”Yeah again. And that’s why I just go back to the first line of questioning I had there because Hillary Clinton said that she has never met, doesn’t remember ever meeting Jeffrey Epstein, and Melania Trump did,” “Berman countered. “I mean, we have pictures of Melania Trump with Jeffrey Epstein. If you’re going to question former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about someone she’s never met, at least if you’re throwing a wide net, why not question Melania Trump?” Mace tried to say that she had seen photos of Secretary Clinton with Epstein. If those exist, they have never been seen by the public. Berman corrected her and said there were photos of Bill Clinton. “I believe there are photos out there of her and Jay-Z and Jeffrey Epstein,” said Mace. The photo that she referenced has been proven to have been created by artificial intelligence, Reuters reported on Feb. 13. Mace made the mistake of saying that the committee has cast a wide net to speak to a lot of different people about Epstein. Berman specifically cited that “large net” when asking again about Mrs. Trump. “And you have thrown a wide net on the people you want to talk to. It’s just — I’m just curious about why the line stops at first lady Melania Trump. If there are, you know, if there is a clear relationship that she had there or knowledge of something potentially,” he said. Mace repeated that the Trumps have been exonerated by the survivors she’s spoken to. Those survivors have proven to be just a small fraction of those willing to come forward. One email from Epstein bragged, “I am the one who can take him down,” speaking specifically about Trump.
