Analyst flags ‘the worst part’ of the Trump admin’s Epstein files releases

A progressive analyst flagged “the worst part” of how the Trump administration has handled the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files in a new podcast episode on Monday night. Last December, Congress overwhelmingly passed a law requiring the Trump administration to release all Epstein-related files in its possession. However, the administration has only released approximately 2% of the files it has. At the same time, Attorney General Pam Bondi has said the administration will not release any more files or bring additional charges against perpetrators named in the files. Brian Tyler Cohen said on a new episode of his podcast “No Lie” on Monday that the administration’s handling of the files reveals that Trump and his cronies never planned to provide full transparency to the public. Instead, Cohen argued that Trump used the Epstein files to whip up support from voters and then turned his back on them once he was elected. “That’s the worst part, that in retrospect it becomes clear that they had zero intention of doing anything about the very issue they exploited for votes,” Cohen said. “These people knew how potent an issue this was because they talked about it. They built their audiences on it. They made money off it. But the second they had the opportunity to do something about it.” “They did the very thing that they once condemned, which is to suppress these files in blind deference to the criminals,” he continued. “That is the MAGA GOP in a nutshell. Say whatever you have to say to get elected. Con the rubes in your base to give you their votes.”
