Coronation Street aired a special flashforward episode revealing five residents at risk of being killed off in April, with fans already predicting who the victim will be

A Coronation Street character faces death in a few months’ time and fans reckon they already “know” precisely who it will be.

On Monday (February 16) the long-running ITV soap broadcast a special flash-forward episode, unveiling the five residents who could meet their end this April.

Villainous Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), abuser Theo Silverton (James Silverton), fiery Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) and troubled pair Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) are all in danger as each potentially has grounds to be murdered.

Throughout the episode, a police interrogation unfolded in the not-so-distant future on April 23rd 2026 between officers and a nervous and distressed Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) who stumbled upon the corpse.

As the episode shifted back to present day, viewers witnessed how the actions of the five characters might result in their potential demise two months down the line, reports the Daily Star.

Speaking previously about the flash-forward twist, producer Kate Brooks explained the special episode would provide current storylines with a conclusion as they weave into this future glimpse.

She said: “I don’t think I’ve ever told a story that involves quite as many character groups. Everyone’s impacted – everyone’s affected by this story. There’s so many twists and so many turns.”

However, fans have already started speculating about who might meet their end, with many suspecting it could be the predatory character Megan. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: “As much as I want it to be Theo or Carl, I think it could be Megan..”

The same person added: “It says it affects many characters so if Sam outs her and Will that will affect the Tilsley/Platt’s, the Driscoll’s also the Barlow’s as she’s going out with Daniel.” Another fan agreed, saying: “My money is on Megan.”

Echoing this sentiment, a third viewer stated: “I think Megan or Theo but hope it isn’t Theo. That would be too easy a way out for him. He needs to pay for his actions.”

A fourth fan wrote: “If Carl gets killed off how will Debbie get out of prison? Maggie more than likely to be the murderer! Theo needs to be punished! My thoughts are with Megan.”

Viewers may remember that Megan was introduced last year as the athletics coach of Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). It later transpired that Megan had been grooming Will for months and was pregnant with his child.

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
