No matter how often you clean your floors or tackle the tiles in your kitchen or bathroom, if the grout lines are still stained, the room will never appear clean. Whilst there are numerous ways to clean grout, cleaning expert Mrs Hinch, also known as Sophie Hinchliffe, has wowed her followers with a simple yet effective cleaning trick that has left her “absolutely buzzing”.
The influencer, who has gained close to five million Instagram followers, is celebrated for her brilliant cleaning hacks and advice that she regularly shares with her audience. While tidying at home one day, Mrs Hinch realised her technique for tackling kitchen floor grout would be of interest to her followers, especially given the constant questions she receives about it.
In a past Instagram story, she said: “Currently sitting on my kitchen floor. I wasn’t going to film this, and then I thought, ‘Do you know what, I will’, because so many people ask me about grout in tiles.”
She then demonstrated how to use the product to return her grout to its pristine white state, which turned out to be a magic eraser.
“This is a damp magic eraser. I have got a bit of Elbow Grease as well, just in case it’s a little too stubborn,” she added while using the eraser to clean an area of the grouting, which was instantly transformed.
Sophie said: “Feel like I’ve got a new floor. So if you need to tackle your dirty grout, buy some magic erasers. Look at the difference. Absolutely buzzing.”
Crafted from melamine foam, magic erasers prove invaluable additions to household cleaning arsenals. Their primary function is to lift stubborn marks from various surfaces throughout the home.
Chemical-free and totally natural, these clever sponges rely on their abrasive texture to deliver impressive cleaning results.
Shoppers can grab a trio of these ingenious cleaning tools from B&Q for £2, working out as 67p each.
For those wanting to stock up, Amazon offers bulk purchases with 50 erasers available for £7.99.
Those preferring alternative natural solutions for brightening discoloured grout might consider baking soda mixed with water to form a paste, which works remarkably well.
Steam cleaning also emerged as an effective method for eliminating grout stains quickly, requiring minimal elbow grease.
