There are opportunities available in everything from airport security to hospitality
Airport security, lounge hospitality and terminal operations staff are wanted at Manchester Airport and its sister airports. Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which owns and operates Manchester Airport as well as East Midlands and London Stansted Airports, is advertising more than 500 job vacancies.
The group is holding a jobs fair at The Forum in Wythenshawe from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, March 3 where people will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths in the aviation sector.
The event which will link jobseekers with more than 20 leading employers operating at the airport in areas including retail, hospitality, aviation services, customer service and logistics. Entry to the event is free and must be booked in advance. Tickets are available online, here.
Many of the new airport jobs will be in areas such as airport security, lounge hospitality and terminal operations. Other roles on offer with third-party employers based at the airport range from airline support and check‑in to airside operations, logistics and ground handling, retail, and special assistance services for passengers with restricted mobility.
Other employers represented at the fair include retailers and franchise operators including Boots, Costa Coffee, JD Wetherspoon and WHSmith, as well as airlines and travel companies Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
Airport service providers like PrimeFlight, 36T HUB, Mitie, Swissport and ABM will also be represented at the fair.
The Airport Academy, which is run in partnership by Manchester Airport and Trafford and Stockport College Group, will also be in attendance promoting its free pre-employment support programmes.
These include fully accredited training schemes for those who are on Jobseekers’ Allowance and require additional support before applying for the jobs.
Jobseekers securing roles with MAG can take advantage of a wide range of benefits. These include discounts on public transport when travelling to work, free on-site car parking whilst working and when going on holiday, an excellent pension scheme, training programmes, retail discounts plus many more.
