The list was revealed ahead of Mother’s Day
The UK’s best brunch and lunch spots have been named and two are in Liverpool. With Mother’s Day fast approaching, many families across the region will be planning the perfect way to celebrate.
According to OpenTable, there are two restaurants in Liverpool that will offer the best experience come Sunday, March 15. New consumer research from OpenTable, highlighted 40% of Brits are planning to dine out to celebrate Mother’s Day this year, making it one of the most popular occasions for restaurant bookings.
To help diners choose somewhere special, OpenTable has unveiled its annual Top 100 list, spotlighting standout venues across the country delivering exceptional brunch and lunch experiences.
The two Liverpool venues that made the list are Ivy Liverpool and The Quarter. This recognition places them among the very best in the UK, highlighting the strength of Liverpool’s food scene ahead of one of the busiest hospitality weekends of the year, according to OpenTable.
Senior director Sash Shaker said: “Despite Mother’s Day being the biggest dining day of the year in 2025, 53% of reservations were made within a week of the day itself. Our Top 100 Brunch and Lunch Restaurants for 2026 list takes the pressure off the 33% of the UK who stress about finding the right spot. Whether mum is partial to a Sunday roast, brunch with bubbles or a fancy dinner, diners are spoiled for choice with this new list.”
The Ivy Brasserie
The Ivy Brasserie opened its first Merseyside venue back in 2024. The highly anticipated restaurant and bar occupies the former Bank of England site on Castle Street.
The Ivy Brasserie houses a private dining room seating 14, while the main restaurant has the capacity to welcome more than 180 diners. The venue offers diners something unique every day of the week.
However, for Mother’s Day, it is offering a breakfast menu at £27.50 per person or a dinner menu at £38.95 per person.
The Quarter
When the Quarter cafe opened its doors on Falkner Street in 2003 it heralded a new era for what was fast-becoming known as the Georgian Quarter– although back then the area was a very different place.
In 2003, the Georgian quarter was better known as a bit of a red light district rather than a creative hub, with the name of nearby Toxteth also still suffering from the seemingly inextricable link to riots that had occurred more than 20 years earlier.
These days however, while the enigmatic and edgy spirit remains along Falkner Street, it is not unusual to find internationally-renowned premier league footballers grabbing some lunch and film crews who are shooting nearby popping in for a coffee and a bite, mingling in with the eclectic clientele of regulars who make the Quarter a little slice of home from home.
The Quarter has yet to announce its Mother’s Day offerings, but the venue is renowned for its fresh food – pizzas, pasta and wide variety of cakes.
