You could save up to £1000 by checking the deal on your phone first
Jasmine Harman has shared a tip on how you can book an all-inclusive holiday at a much cheaper price. The A Place in the Sun presenter returned to screens this evening for her new Channel 4 programme titled Bargain Holiday Secrets. This time, Jasmine revealed some inside secrets to learn more about how the hotel industry works.
The Channel 4 show sees Jasmine explore the best ways to find a bargain, whether that’s booking a city break, a long haul trip or an all-inclusive getaway.
During the most recent episode which aired on Tuesday, Jasmine wanted to find out how to find the best price for an all-inclusive holiday.
She explained how booking on your phone can work out cheaper than arranging the trip on your computer or laptop.
Some of the biggest websites actively encourage hotels to offer mobile-only prices. An expert said “One of the most well-known is Booking.com which actually encourages its hotels to offer discounts to customers booking via mobile devices.”
Jasmine decided to put this concept to the test and she searched for a family holiday in Turkey on Booking.com, first on her laptop and then once again on her phone.
The TV presenter said: “Let’s put this to the test. This all-inclusive holiday in Turkey is £4,058 on Booking.com on my laptop. So now let’s do the same search on my phone.”
She was taken aback by the price, which had been reduced to £3,090.
She said: “Wow! This is the same hotel, family of four, all food and drink included, and it’s nearly a grand less. Over 20% lower on my phone.”
She added: “These mobile prices are only visible if you are using your phone. So if, like me you normally book your holidays on your laptop or your desktop. You’ll have no idea these even exist.”
Hotel businesses want customers to take a more “casual” approach to booking a holiday, making it increasingly easier to book on your mobile phone instead of a laptop.
Jasmine said: “Before you hit book on your all-inclusive holiday, double check the deal on your phone.”
