The human remains of a man who disappeared five years ago have been found by police.
Andrzej Mucha, from Slough, was 57-years-old when he vanished in November 2021. He last made contact with his family on November 29.
The remains were found by Thames Valley Police in a large field on Grays Park Road in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire as they helped Polish law enforcement with a fresh search on Tuesday, February 3.
A murder investigation for Andrzej was launched in April 2022, up until this point he was classified as a missing person. Two men were extradited to Poland in November to face trial over his disappearance.
Detective Superintendent Andy Howard said: “The force has been supporting Polish law enforcement by carrying out searches in a field on Grays Park Road, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, since Tuesday 3rd February.
“Sadly, during these searched human remains have been discovered and now recovered from this area.
“Formal identification as well as a post mortem to try and ascertain the cause of death will be carried out in due course”. Andrzej’s family are being supported by specialist officers, he added.
“I would like to again thank the community for their cooperation while we are in the area carrying out these searches.”
