A Grey’s Anatomy star has been announced for Liverpool Comic Con. The fan convention is set to return this spring, bringing a number of stars to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 3. Thousands of fans are expected to turn out at the event over the weekend for a chance to meet some of their favourite celebrities.
Organisers have announced today, Thursday, February 5, that Kevin McKidd will be among the special guests. The Scottish actor is best known for his long-running role as Dr. Owen Hunt on the hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, a role he has played since 2008.
He is also widely recognised for his breakout performance as Tommy in the 1996 film Trainspotting and for starring as Lucius Vorenus in the HBO historical series Rome.
The actor joins Stranger Things stars Cara Buono, Joe Chrest and Caleb McLaughlin, as well as X-Files star Gillian Anderson, who was announced as the first guest last November, and Star Trek actor William Shatner.
Last year’s star-studded line-up included Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, WWE superstar John Cena, Dirty Dancing icon Jennifer Grey and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actress Jeanie Bueller.
Star Wars actors Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Alistair Petrie, an older Boba Fett played by Temuera Morrison, Boca Tan actress Katee Sackhoff and Genevieve O’Reilly, who plays Mon Mothma, also made appearances at the event.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can look forward to autograph signings, professional photo sessions, and live Q&A panels where stars will discuss both their past work and upcoming projects.
Comic Con fans can purchase a variety of tickets including full weekend or one day only passes.
More guests are expected to be announced as the event draws closer.
