Witnesses described seeing ‘tons of police and ambulances’ at the scene
Four people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Netherley on Tuesday night. Emergency services were called to Wood Lane at around 9.52pm on February 17 after reports of a crash.
Witnesses described seeing ‘tons of police and ambulances’ at the scene as crews responded to the incident. A road closure remains in place on Wood Lane between Caldway Drive and Winster Drive while investigations continue.
In a statement, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said crews were alerted at 9.52pm to reports of a road traffic collision in the area of Brakedale Close.
Two fire engines arrived at 9.57pm and found two vehicles involved in the crash, both upright on all four wheels. All occupants had exited the vehicles before emergency services arrived.
Firefighters administered first aid at the scene, while Merseyside Police put a road closure in place and awaited paramedics from North West Ambulance Service.
Four people were taken to hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been confirmed.
Fire crews left the scene at 11.04pm.
