Coronation Street fans are convinced they know who is setting up Hope Dobbs after Brian’s valuable book was stolen from The Kabin

Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve worked out who is framing Hope Dobbs.

Hope (Isabela Flanagan) has been a fixture on the soap since her on-screen birth in 2010 – and throughout the years, it’s safe to say she’s been caught up in numerous major storylines. From attempting to flee to even torching a house, Hope’s stint on the cobbles has been packed with drama.

Recently on the soap, Hope began some voluntary work at The Kabin alongside Brian (Peter Gunn) and Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox), with Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) taking on the responsibility of the paper round.

However, when Brian and Rita discovered Lily had ditched the papers rather than delivering them, they sacked her – much to Aunty Jodie Ramsay’s (Olivia Frances Brown) fury.

Moreover, Hope was left seething when she discovered that Brian and Rita had been discussing her behind her back, prompting her to explode. Subsequently, an unidentified person was spotted breaking into the shop to nick Brian’s book – which he had taunted Hope with earlier, reports the Daily Star.

In Monday’s episode (February 23) however, Brian was incensed to discover his treasured book had vanished, revealing it didn’t “come cheap”. When Mary (Patti Clare) branded the thief selfish, Brian immediately suspected it was Hope.

He went round to confront Hope about whether she had pinched it, to which she flatly denied it. Sister Ruby (Billie Naylor) also defended Hope, whilst mum Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) blasted Brian for pointing the finger at Hope.

After Fiz dismissed Brian, Ruby urged Hope to come clean, but Hope remained insistent she hadn’t taken the book. Now, fans reckon they’ve worked out who is framing Hope.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, viewers suspect Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances Brown), with one person writing: “Jodie is framing Hope.” Someone else added: “Defo.” A third also penned: “Agree 100%.”

Meanwhile, discussing Jodie on Coronation Street, producer Kate Brooks recently revealed they felt it was the right moment to “explore and unpack a bit of Shona’s backstory, and that’s where Jodie comes into the picture”.

She continued: “She’s a complicated character and she comes with a lot of baggage, shall we say, and their relationship as sisters is quite fraught. You know, they’ve got a lot history between them, there’s some kind of deep-seated resentment there as well, but they love each other.”
