A Coronation Street couple could be facing an emotional separation after a devastating cheating revelation.
Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) initially began their relationship several years ago. Despite being an unexpected pairing, they’ve flourished together.
Following their engagement last year, Bernie and Dev made their commitment official by marrying in August. Yet married life has been far from peaceful and harmonious for the newlyweds.
Viewers will remember that Dev’s daughter Asha (Tanisha Gorey) attempted to take her own life after the trainee paramedic suffered a horrific racist assault from an intoxicated woman, Naomi, whom Asha had been attempting to assist whilst on duty.
Then at the beginning of the year, Bernie’s son-in-law Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was tragically killed in the dramatic Corridale crash. Fans will remember he perished after becoming caught up in a multi-vehicle collision, reports the Daily Star.
Following Billy’s death, Bernie found herself deeply struggling and descended into turmoil.
She wound up taking drugs with a stranger called Mal (Tim Treloar) in his hotel room where the pair kissed. Bernie ultimately left, but was subsequently discovered unconscious, collapsed in a toilet cubicle by a group of girls at a nightclub.
Whilst Bernie opened up to Dev about the drug-taking incident at the hotel, she kept quiet about what transpired with Mal. Yet on the soap recently, Mal has been pursuing and verbally attacking Bernie after she turned him down.
Since then, Bernie has been living in fear and in Wednesday’s episode (February 25), she opened up to her police officer son Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) about what happened.

Later in the episode, Dev returned home following a few days away with Asha, and Bernie revealed the truth about Mal – leaving Dev utterly devastated.
However, now that the truth has emerged, fans are convinced a break up is on the cards for Bernie and Dev. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “I’m happy Bernie came clean but I think Dev will end it.” Another responded: “Probably.” A third wrote: “Can no one be happy on that street!”.
